Employee Wellness

Human Resources sponsors a number of voluntary initiatives aimed at enhancing employee wellness. In addition to one-time events and a rewards program, WashU faculty are eligible for opportunities that include a community-sponsored agriculture program and farmers’ market, mammography van, discounted gym memberships, mindfulness-based stress reduction classes, and more.

Work-Life Balance

WashU employees can take advantage of a Work-Life Solutions program that offers free, confidential, 24/7 support and resources.

Several benefits are available to caregivers of young children or elders, including a back-up care advantage program, early childhood learning centers, and infant nursing rooms.

Faculty who become parents by birth or adoption are eligible for a 15-week paid parental leave within the first year of the child’s birth or adoption.

Employees who have been at the university for at least 12 months are eligible for Family and Medical Leave.

The Office of the Provost periodically conducts a Work-Life Balance Survey whose results are circulated within the university community.
