Positions to Be Elected

According to our recently adopted by-laws, we will need to elect members to the following Executive Committee officer positions:

  • Co-Presidents
    • Two Co-Presidents will be elected
    • One Co-President will be elected for a 1-year term and one for a 2-year term in order to begin a staggered 2-year election cycle
  • Recording Secretary
  • Corresponding Secretary

We will also elect Board Members (up to 10) to support the Executive Committee. Board Member representation from all schools is encouraged! For more information on the positions and their respective duties, please see the attached by-laws.

How to Nominate (due by April 16)

If you would like to nominate someone (including yourself) for one of these officer positions, please send your nomination to Jen Arch by April 16. Please include a brief written statement regarding your (or the nominee’s) qualifications to run.

Note that potential Board Members may nominate themselves from the floor of the Election Meeting, and that a statement is not required to run for Board Member.

Jen will collect all of the nominations and finalize the nominees by April 23.

The Elections

At the Annual Election Meeting, anyone running for Co-President, Recording Secretary, or Corresponding Secretary will give a brief statement to those present. If a nominee is unable to attend the meeting, someone will read their statement in their place. The ballot (along with the nominee statements) will be emailed to the full membership, and voting will take place online and will be open for a full week.
